In The Air …

Last week I was working the SawStop booth at the International Woodworkers Fair in Atlanta, Georgia and realized that my company, who sells the worlds safest table saw, has decided to jump into the fight against cancer! I had known about our new line of dust collection products but only after talking to our marketing director and reading the information provided to me did I realize they are doing their part.

Let me explain.

My company has designed a cabinet saw that takes 99% of all the wood dust out of the air when used with our new over-arm dust collection system.

According to an article from Ohio State University titled Wood Dust Exposure Hazards, “Exposure to wood dust may cause external and internal health problems. Adverse health effects associated with wood dust exposure include dermatitis, allergic respiratory effects, mucosal and non-allergic respiratory effects, and cancer”.

So, being the guy that parties for cancer, this made me very proud to discuss this new option with our potential customers in Atlanta. Our newest marketing campaign is "Take a Deep Breath". Sawstop has realized that people take the environment they live in seriously. It makes me really proud to work for a company that continues to look at safety. I usually don’t make my blogs an infomercial but felt that I needed to share this information with you.

Maybe the company you work for is working on something to help the fight against cancer? Let us know and we will spread the word.

Thank you for your continued support.

  • Interesting. I didn’t know that wood dust was so caustic. It’s great to hear that your company is working towards making the environment better for the users of your products!
